Vitol imports first US LNG cargo into South Hook, UK

Vitol SA will shortly import an LNG cargo into the UK through the South Hook LNG Terminal, at Milford Haven, Wales. The vessel, YariLNG, which loaded at Sabine Pass LNG Liquefaction Terminal, USA is expected to deliver its cargo to the South Hook LNG Terminal on 31st October 2018. South Hook Gas Company Limited (South Hook Gas) will make available terminal capacity rights to regasify Vitol’s LNG cargo and deliver its gas into the UK natural gas grid. This demonstrates the drive and ability of South Hook Gas, with the support of its shareholders, affiliates of Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil, to help diversify the supply of LNG into the UK market, whilst increasing utilisation of the facility’s import capacity.

South Hook Gas, through its vision of Energy for Growth, is committed to contributing to enhance security and competition in the UK energy markets. By signing new terminal capacity agreements such as this one with Vitol, they continue to facilitate and diversify gas supply into the UK.
